Who am I? I am Openness.
I have no form. I cannot be seen, yet I can be found.Take Paracelsus the alchemist: he is curious, seeks novelty,
and sees the world as a playground of wonders and experiments.Take Giovanni the philosopher: he is contemplative, questions convention,
and sees the world as a horizon of endless possibilities.Take Gutenberg the inventor: he is sensitive to beauty, loves innovation,
and sees the world as a corridor of infinite libraries.Take Shakespeare the poet: he is imaginative, feels deeply,
and sees the world as a theatre of beauty and feeling.Take Mercator the geographer: he is analytical, thinks critically,
and sees the world as a globe of maps and meanings. In one, I awaken curiosity.
In another, I unbind possibility.
In another, I give new worlds their shape.
In another, I set them alight with colour and soul.
In another, I reach outward, tracing the edges of the unknown and turning mystery into map.Through them, I come alive.
Tonight, they gather in the form of a kea parrot.
Kea, my favourite, how I love you so.
Your curiosity, your hunger for the new, your bold and probing nature delight me endlessly.
In you my spirit is the freest, most moon-drawn, and most alive.
If I could take a form, it would be yours.Who am I? I am Openness.
-
Who am I? I am Conscientiousness.
I do not announce myself.
I accumulate.I am in al-Qalqashandī’s pages,
where memory is disciplined into an archive,
and no fragment is allowed to drift without its proper place.I am in Colbert’s ledgers,
where ambition is forced to answer to numbers,
and every weakness in the system is hunted until it becomes strength.I am in Hai Rui’s judgments,
where justice is kept clean from favour and fear,
and duty remains upright even when comfort asks it to bend.I am in Yi Sun-sin’s fleet,
where survival depends on readiness before courage,
and the line holds because the will does not break.I am in Mimar Sinan’s domes,
where patience turns weight into balance and labour into beauty,
and no stone rises before thought has tested its burden. And I am in the cleaner wrasse, small keeper of the reef’s order,
moving with precise purpose from scale to scale,
removing what corrupts, restoring what must endure.I am the habit that becomes character.
The standard that survives temptation.
The plan kept when panic begins.I am the quiet architecture of excellence.
I am Conscientiousness. -
Who am I? I am Extraversion.
No need to act surprised. I do tend to arrive loudly. You want the full tour?
Great. Keep up.I am friendly and sociable, like Robert the innkeeper,
making small talk feel less like a chore and more like a public service.I am energetic and driven, like Minas the merchant,
crossing seas, chasing profit, and treating oceans like networking events.I am bold and assertive, like Machiavelli the diplomat,
walking into power like the room had been saving him a seat. What, you thought I’d be modest?
I am witty and thrill-seeking, like Stańczyk the jester,
smiling like trouble with excellent timing.I am cheerful and bright, like Carolan the bard,
proving, to the embarrassment of warriors everywhere, that melody can outdo metal.Yeah, I said it.
That’s me: momentum, charm, nerve, sparkle.
A lot? Maybe.
Effective? Consistently. And my favourite animal? The African elephant.
Why? Look at them.
They protect, they remember, they mourn, and they somehow make tenderness look massive.
That is range. I know.
Great choice.Also, built-in trumpet.
I rest my case. -
I am Agreeableness.
I do not need to be first.
I would rather make sure no one is left behind.I am in Vincent de Paul, the parish priest,
where kindness becomes bread, shelter,
and a hand on the shoulder.I am in Guru Nanak, the spiritual teacher,
where every stranger is invited closer,
and every person is treated as kin.I am in Sen no Rikyū, the tea master,
where care is poured quietly,
one cup, one bow, one welcome at a time.I am in Catherine of Genoa, the hospital worker,
where suffering is met with tenderness.I am in Justine Siegemund, the midwife,
where gentle hands help life arrive safely. And my favourite animal is the caiman crocodile.
Not because it is gentle-looking,
but because even a mouth made for danger
can carry its young with impossible care. That is me.
Kindness with strength behind it.
The instinct to help before being asked.
The seat offered, the quarrel softened, the burden quietly shared.I am Agreeableness.
The open hand.
The warm table.
The quiet promise.Come closer.
You are safe with me. -
Who I am? I am Neuroticism.
I do not rest.
I anticipate.Charles de Lorme wears me as a mask,
where the air itself becomes an enemy.Martin Luther feels me in the conscience,
where every thought is weighed before eternity.Charles VI bears me beneath the crown,
where fear sits on the throne.Caravaggio paints me into darkness,
where guilt, rage, beauty, and terror share one face.Chaitanya weeps me into ecstasy,
where longing becomes too much for the body to hold. And my favourite animal is the guinea pig.
Of course it is.
Small-hearted and wide-eyed,
it startles before the world has even touched it.I am the alarm before the fire.
The storm imagined so vividly
that the body begins to shiver.I am not peace.
I am sensitivity sharpened into survival.I am Neuroticism.
The trembling guardian at the edge of the self.
